BIO

Zachary Gray, who also makes up one half of lo-fi indie pop act Cinéma Vérité (Le Grand Magistery/Darla), one third of Holobody (Mush Records), and one half of chillwave experiment Washed Hands (Lebanon, Mass.), is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Film Studies program – and through the scores he wrote for his classmates’ films, he expanded into writing pop songs.
When Cinéma Vérité’s first North American tour with Benoît Pioulard (Kranky) was put to an untimely death due to United States border complications, Zachary channeled his disappointment into new material.
Organized and edited, this new material collectively forms his first proper solo LP. Artist in Montréal is a sprawling and fluid electro-acoustic pop LP, and features appearances by Felix Green (Holobody), Atlanta based rapper Knife, Sea Oleena (Holobody), and Cinéma Vérité guitarist Guillaume Harvey.

Artist in Montréal will be released sometime in 2012, and will be mastered by Aaron Munson, aka. Ilkae (Merck).
